Aodán was working there and Brídín was supposedly studying or getting a break from the love of her life “Sport” His first comment to her was that “You’re some chancer” and the rest is matrimonial history. We return with them to a much changed Yugoslavia which is now modern day Croatia and between lighting candles for their exam sitting kids at home, getting portraits done and relaxing on the streets of Porec they have a great time as they retrace the steps they took 31 years ago.

Clár 4 – Etaín and Séamas Ó Síocháin – 27th August 1970

Lucan based couple, Etaín and Séamas Ó Síocháin got married and honeymooned in Kerry a few days before they would head for the United States for a new life together. Before they met the priesthood had been on the cards for Séamas but life took a romantic turn when sporting a green blazer he met Etaín in the offices of Gael Linn for the first time. However 3 months later he headed to Cornell University in New York to study anthropology and they thought that was the end ! But alas it was not and they would eventually marry on the 27th August 1970.

Clár 5 – Brian & Sinéad Mullen – 31st January 1986

Brian and Sinead grew up on the same street in Derry but only managed to meet each other for the first time in 1983. He had spent some of his college years in Bangor in Wales but his studies in economics was not for him as he moved into music and returned to Derry. But Bangor had a special place in his heart so after their wedding though no honeymoon had been organised they took a lift with one of the wedding party to Manchester on the ferry and onwards they went to Bangor. It was unplanned but very special. We return with the two of them aboard Irish Ferries for their 2nd Honeymoon 25 years later.

Cape is small, as Mícheál puts it, and there weren’t many places to take a lady to woo her so they had to make the best of the club and the sea and the scenery! They both share a love for all things sea-related and this decided the course of their honeymoon – Cornwall !

They met at a dance in the Parish Hall in Gortahork and got married on the 31st of March 1975 in Yorkshire. They didn’t even wait for the first dance before they jetted off to L’loret de Mar in the South of Spain – Everything was new, the food, the wine, the music and the weather especially coming from the north of England and they were young at only 20 and 21. It’s a special moment seeing them return after 36 years.
