When Can You Amend?

You can amend a tax return within 4 years from the end of the tax year.

How to Amend on ROS (Form 11)

  1. 1Log into ROS at ros.ie
  2. 2Go to 'My Services' → 'File a Return'
  3. 3Select 'Income Tax' → 'Form 11'
  4. 4Choose the year you want to amend
  5. 5Click 'Amend Return'
  6. 6Make the necessary corrections
  7. 7Provide the reason for the amendment
  8. 8Submit the amended return

Expression of Doubt

You can use the "expression of doubt" facility under Section 959P TCA 1997 if you have a genuine doubt about the application of tax law.
